Parking Permit PARKING NOTICE: Please remember that if you have not completed an application, submitted a copy of your drivers license and your insurance card, paid your $20 AND received a parking permit you are not PERMITTED DRIVE TO SCHOOL or park in the student parking lot.


Tardies Beginning in January, students with 3 or more tardies to school will lose driving privileges. This is an effort to make sure students are arriving to school on time. All tardies will start over beginning January 3rd. Make the choice to make it on time to school!


Washington Youth Tour Contest Attention Sophomores and Juniors: Rayle EMC is sponsoring the Washington Youth Tour Essay Contest in which you can win a FREE trip to Washington, DC. Essay contest information can be picked up in the main office. The deadline for entering is March 9, 2018. See you counselor if you have questions.


Acceptance letters Attention Seniors: The counseling department would like to recognize students, as they are being accepted to colleges and universities. Please notify the counselors by submitting a copy of your acceptance letters.


Talent show The Talent Show has been reschedule for Thursday March 1st at 6:00 pm. We have some fabulous acts who are thrilled to be performing for you. You even have a chance to help pick fan favorite by donating money to the contestant of your choice at the door. We'll also be counting which house has the most students to show up and support our Patriot Performers! See you THERE!!!!!


Teen Volunteer Attention students who will be between 15 and 17 years old by June 1st. If you have a GPA of B or higher and are interested in helping others, you are invited to apply to become a Teen Volunteer at Piedmont Athens Regional this summer. For more information and to request an application packet, please call Lynda Jones at 706-475-3405. The application deadline is March 2, 2018!


Ag Mechanics awards Joseph Fraker, Joshua Lindmeir, Robert Webb, and Cade Legg won 2nd Place in the Area 2 Ag. Mechanics CDE held February 15, 2018 at Oglethorpe County High School and have qualified to compete in the State Ag. Mechanics CDE in March. Oglethorpe County also had the high score in the team activity portion of the contest! The Oglethorpe County Ag. Mechanics team and their FFA Advisor, Mr.Travis Sertich are to be commended for this accomplishment.


Interact Club The next Interact Club meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 28th right after school in Mr. Schmidt's room. If you can't attend, speak to Mrs. McGarity.


FAFSA Completion Workshop Attention Seniors & Senior Parents: If you are planning to attend technical school or college next year, you NEED to complete your FAFSA. OCHS will host a FAFSA Completion Workshop on Saturday, March 10th from 10 am to 11:30 am in Lab 80. You need to bring your parent or guardian along with their income tax information. Once your FAFSA is completed, remember to show your confirmation page to your counselor to be entered into the monthly FAFSA Completion Drawing. If you have questions, see your counselor.


Dental VAn Students the dental van will be here on March 30, 2018. If you are interested please pick up and for in the front office and return it to Ms. Shannon by March 15, 2018.


Pride of the Patriots The first POP Pizza Party of 2nd semester will be TOMORROW during lunch outside the media center doors. THERE IS A NEW LIST BASED ON LAST SEMESTER'S PERFORMANCE. Be sure to check to see if your name is on it!


Literary Team Literary participants: See Ms. Kitchens or Mr. Jones for your literary competition permission slip. You must have a permission slip to ride the bus on the 1st.


Concours 2018 Are you interested in competing for your HOUSE? We have the opportunity for you! We need 4 teams ( 1 per house) with at least 4 members to compete in the Concours 2018 competition, a technology, engineering, art, music and robotics competition! We have positions for all ability levels from beginner to more advanced. You can work on just a tiny part or as much as you'd like. Sign up by March 5th in the media center. See Mrs. Thompson for more information!
